Latest ATP Rankings post the 2022 Acapulco Open

Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev

With the 2022 Acapulco Open concluded, as expected there are some big changes to the ATP Rankings as it was expected. The tournament in Acapulco was held simultaneously with the 2022 Dubai Tennis Championships and the 2022 Chile Open. While the finals of the Chile Open is yet to be played, the other two tournaments have their champions finalised for this year.

Andrey Rublev won the finals against surprise finalist Jiri Vesely in the finals in Dubai while Rafael Nadal defeated Cameron Norrie in the finals in Mexico. Sebastian Baez will take on Pedro Martinez in the finals in Chile. With Novak Djokovic losing in the quarter-finals in Dubai and Daniil Medvedev reaching the semi-finals in Acapulco, the Russian overtakes the Serbian to reach the top of the ATP rankings for the first time in his career.

Despite Alexander Zverev‘s removal from the Acapulco Open for his violent act, he holds on to his World No. 3 spot while World No. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas gets replaced by Nadal with the two players exchanging places in the rankings. Rublev exchanges his place with Matteo Berrettini as the Italian slips to World No. 7 while Rublev rises to World No. 6.
