Latest ATP Rankings post the 2022 Miami Masters
Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud and Carlos Alcaraz
With the 2022 Miami Masters concluded, as expected there are some big changes to the ATP Rankings as it was expected. The tournament in Miami was held immediately after the 2022 Indian Wells as a part of the Sunshine Double.
Carlos Alcaraz won the final against a higher-ranked Casper Ruud. The match ended 7-5, 6-4 in favour of the Spaniard. The 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz claimed the biggest ATP Tour title of his career on Sunday in the Miami Gardens becoming the youngest champion of the tournament.
Updated ATP Rankings
Clinching his first ATP title, Carlos Alcaraz has risen to a career-high 11th in the world rankings. The Spaniard is one of the hottest names in the world of tennis, being tipped to be a star in the future. Ruud also reaches his career-high rank of World No. 7 as he exchanges places with Andrey Rublev.
Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev lost his World No.1 ranking to Novak Djokovic as the Russian needed to reach the semi-finals but lost in the quarter-finals to defending champion Hubert Hurkacz who also exits the Top-10 as he needed to defend the title to remain in the Top-10 and has now dropped 4 places to be ranked as World No. 14. Cameron Norrie breaks into the Top-10 for the first time but is only 29 points clear of Alcaraz in the 11th place.
