Novak Djokovic has been an integral part of the tennis family. He was a major missing at the Australian Open 2022. Although his fans and a few fellow tennis mates missed him, but it looked like the Australian crowd wasn’t much affected by Djokovic’s absence. Not seeing him play at the Slam was not grief for them given his vaccination stand. No one rejoiced Novak being deported more than the Australians. When he was granted the medical exemption the residents of Australia criticized him for being unreasonable and selfish.
Novak’s visa saga started in the last season when he applied for medical exemption against the covid-19 vaccine. After a few months of denying, the AO authorities finally approved it in January this year and the player flew to Melbourne but unfortunately, he was deported to his nation after hours of investigation, isolation, and court appeals which all went in vain as he and his lawyer were not able to produce sufficient proofs for the case.

Former tennis star John McEnroe has never failed to express his strong opinions on the latest updates of the tennis world. Recently in an interview, the legend said that the Australian Open fans are ‘gloating over what they did to Novak Djokovic’.
“Nadal going for history when he hasn’t played for six months. The last guy that did that was Roger when he hadn’t played for six months and won it. Ash Barty won the women’s singles,” he said.
“The Aussies should be thrilled right now! They’re gloating over what they did to Djokovic, Ash Barty won the singles and Kyrgios of all people won the doubles with Kokkinakis. This is now a chance to see two great players. Nadal can make history and Medvedev is starting to get there,” McEnroe said in the interview with Eurosport.
