When asked about how long it will take for her to let the loss in the finals sink in, Leylah claimed, “I am still disappointed, I think I will carry this loss for a very long time and it will motivate me to train harder for the next opportunity I get, nut I am happy with the way I competed in the tournament.”

Talking about expressing herself on the court, Leylah claimed, “more I try to get the crowd involved, the better I play. When I was younger I tried to be as calm as possible like Federer but I have discovered that I play well when I am more outing and using the crowd to my advantage.”

In addition to that, Leylah claimed that she had a magical run at the US Open and said that she has learned how to organize herself, game after game, at the biggest stage. When asked about the stoppage of play controversy, Leylah claimed that what transpired was in the heat of the moment.

I actually didn’t know how serious the injury was. I went to ask the officials about it. It just happened in the heat of the moment. It’s too bad that it happened to me when momentum was on my side, but it’s sports, it’s tennis, you just have to move on,” she said.
