I thought he was immortal and instead we saw that even the greatest champions are crushed by the pressure,” Lorenzo recently claimed. “I didn’t watch the whole game, I admit I slept. But I saw him very, very tense. I was sorry because I was encouraging him,” he added.

Musetti also praised Daniil Medvedev for playing incredibly well throughout the tournament and went on to add that despite the heartbreaking loss, Novak Djokovic is a very special person. “Djokovic absolutely deserved to achieve this calendar Grand Slam even though Medvedev played an extraordinary tournament. Nole is a very special person,” he said.

Lorenzo Musetti has been going through a lean patch lately. He last participated in the Astana Open where he was knocked out in the second round by Laslo Djere. The young Italian would be looking to make a strong comeback in the near future.
