Czech player Marketa Vondrousova created history by becoming the first unseeded player to win the Wimbledon 2023. Interestingly enough, to celebrate the historic win, the 24-year-old got a new matching tattoo with her sister.

The WTA beauty is a huge admirer of tattoos and has often expressed her love for them. From small aesthetic ones to more deeper meanings, the Czech has over 10 tattoos on both of her arms. Her left arm, especially, has been the talk of the town for years now.

The one tattoo that has garnered the most attention is the quote on her right arm, above the elbow, that says, “No rain, no flowers.”

It clearly seems to be the philosophy the Czech star follows. She believes that one needs to go through difficulties in order to reach the highest point in life. For a flower to blossom and become its best self, it has to go through the rain and even storms sometimes.

I think you know, without failure there is no success, so you have to go through some hard matches. Even if you lose especially, if you keep believing in yourself and yeah, this is the reward.

For the uninitiated, the WTA beauty got her first tattoo at the age of 16 as a birthday gift. Other than the famous quote, Marketa also has the Olympic five rings inked following her incredible silver medal run at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. With this triumphant victory, she even became the first Czech woman to reach the Olympic singles final.

Moreover, her smaller tattoos include a rose, a 777 angel number, the lucky number 13, a heart, a fairy, and a smiley face.

With that being said, it seems like the comfort of booking a new tattoo appointment proved to be a welcome sanctuary for Vondrousova, who further admitted that she now has bigger responsibilities on her shoulders after her historic victory

When we came home, the first week was really crazy. I went back to my hometown also, so it was amazing. Then I was in Prague, I had a couple of things to do; for me, I feel like it's a change. People are recognizing you more, even in the city and everything. For me, I don't like these kind of things, to be seen this much.

The Czech even talked about the high expectations fans now have for her. As per the Wimbledon champ herself, she is working on herself to get through the upcoming matches and get used to the pressure.

People around me, I feel like they're going to expect so much now. I know if you are a Grand Slam champion, the expectations are very high, but for me it's important to stay just in my small circle and just work on things and just to get through some matches, with nerves and everything, just get used to the pressure. So that's what I'm working on now.
Continuing further, she added

After finally making it back on the Tour, the tennis professional drew inspiration from her tattoo and bounced back. She will hope to use the no rain, no flowers philosophy in this case and rise big time.
