Qai Qai has gained a lot of popularity in the past few years, as she has about 115,000 followers on Instagram. When asked about her rising fame, she believes that she now has more friends, rather than just followers. “I don’t see it as fame. I just have more friends now,” said Qai Qai.

Bossing up is a way of life. It’s about encouraging yourself and those around you to concentrate on putting your best effort into everything you do every single day—even on those days when it feels like the world is against you. When I think of the stories of the people who inspire me the most, I then think, How did they get there? It’s simple: They bossed up,” the character added.

Qai Qai believes one is never too old to play with dolls, as elders get caught up in chasing their life goals. “I hear ‘too old’ too often. I think grown-ups get caught up in the monotony of work and life in general. They were taught things like ‘time is money’ and ‘time is of the essence,’ so they’re rushing through their days in preparation for the days that haven’t come yet. But in reality, there’s so much time to live, we just get caught up in our own patterns,” Qai Qai believes.

Qai Qai also spoke about her grandmother’s, Serena Williams and Venus Williams, and how they have shaped the next generation of youngsters. “Anytime she plays Auntie V, because it’s always so much more than a match. It’s a showcase of two women bonded by far more than just family. They redefined a sport, and above all, made young girls everywhere believe they can do anything, because they can. That’s legacy,” she added.
