Nick Kyrgios proved yet again that he is the blockbuster, as his antics took over the Australian Open 2022. The Aussie has proved yet and yet again for his volatility and entertaining personality and has gained a massive fanbase for his personality despite splitting opinions.
The Aussie star returned to court at the Indian Wells Masters for the first time since his sensational Australian Open doubles title, winning his match against Argentine Sebastian Baez.
Naomi Osaka responds to viral speculation on playing mixed doubles with Nick Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios has had a red hot start to his Indian Wells campaign with a 6-4 6-0 win over 21-year-old Argentine Sebastian Baez in the first round of the tournament. Kyrgios was at his destructive best, making short work of the World No. 60 and setting up a second-round date with 32 seed Federico Delbonis.
Earlier, Kyrgios had shared a video of Naomi Osaka sitting and watching the Australian’s explosive weapon up close and personal, with fans excited at the possibility of a dream team-up.
“Quick LA session with @naomiosaka. Analyzing my serve to find any small detail … Her hunger to learn was pretty epic to see from a champ like her,” was the caption.
However, a superstar doubles team up with Naomi Osaka appears to be hanging by a thread after the Japanese champion spoke to the speculation following an Instagram post last week. After her first-round win over Sloane Stephens, Osaka did leave the door slightly ajar, depending on how much work Kyrgios wants to put in into the possible team.
The Japanese star revealed that she’d be willing to consider the offer if Kyrgios commits to carry the team. She also admitted that she’s out of touch with the format, having not played doubles for ages and not being particularly good at it.
“If he wants to attempt to carry us, I’ll consider it. But I haven’t played doubles in years and I’m not quite great at it. I know he just won the Australian Open doubles title. Yeah, if he wants to do everything …” said Osaka.
