REVEALED! Naomi Osaka’s potential path to her maiden French Open title

REVEALED! Naomi Osaka’s potential path to her maiden French Open title

Naomi Osaka

Naomi Osaka will look forward to claim her third Grandslam title in just under 12 months at the French Open 2021. The Japanese enters as the second seed, but speaking about her performances on clay courts so far, they have not been great. Osaka suffered early round exits at the Madrid and Italian Open 2021, and will hope to rectify her errors in Paris.

Last year, Naomi Osaka decided to withdraw from the French Open, as she decided to give her body some rest after an exhausting US Open 2020 campaign. Osaka is in the bottom half of the draw, and will open her campaign against Maria Tig of Romania in the first round.

Naomi Osaka is expected to face another Romanian, Ana Bogdan in the second round. In the third round, she will clash against either of Lauren Davis or Allison Riske. The Japanese is expected to breeze past her opening round matches.

In the fourth round, Naomi Osaka will face either the 16th seed, Kiki Bertens or Laura Siegemund. The second seed has been handed a decent draw, and she has a good chance of doing well in Paris. She will face her biggest challenge in the quarterfinals, as she is expected to face the Canadian, Bianca Andreescu.

The going gets tougher in the semifinals, as she can face Aryna Sabalenka, Serena Williams or Petra Kvitova in a crunch battle. Sabalenka has been a standout player this clay court season, having claimed the Madrid Open 2021 title.
