“Never been happier,” Bianca Andreescu announces HUGE UPDATE as she hints at a potential comeback

Bianca Andreescu

The Canadian tennis sensation Bianca Andreescu last competed in the 2021 BNP Paribas Open, where she lost to Anett Kontaveit in the third round. Despite competing in 11 tournaments, Andreescu did not win any titles in the 2021 tennis season, with her best performance coming in the Miami Open, where she finished runner-up. Following that, her performance in the French, Cincinnati Open, and Berlin championships did not appear to improve.

Afterwards, her admirers were disappointed when she announced her withdrawal from the Australian Open 2022. However, after a 5-month hiatus, her aficionados, especially tennis enthusiasts all around the world, received a ray of hope when she recently uploaded a video of her training on Instagram, in which she is seen swinging her racket to practise forehand and backhand strokes. She captioned it with “never been happier”.

Bianca Andreescu is now ranked No. 44 in the world, with 1198 points, but when the WTA rankings are revised after the Miami Open, the Canadian will have dropped out of the Top 100, to at least No. 119. The reason for this is that she is not competing at the Miami Open, where she reached the final last year before losing in the title match to world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty. This means she will forfeit the 650 points she earned for finishing second in the WTA 1000 competition in 2021. As a result, after the Miami Open, Rebecca Marino will replace her as Canada’s No. 2 player, while Leylah Fernandez will remain at the top.

However, in the middle of the awful news, Andreescu did hint at a return to the court, giving her fans a ray of optimism and forcing their mind to be filled with questions, one of them being: “Will the Canadian make a comeback anytime soon or will she again take a step back?”
