Tennis legend Rafael Nadal is in the twilight of his career. The 37-year-old is trying hard to stay competitive on the tour but his body is letting him down almost every time.

Injuries have plagued Nadal’s career in the past few years and his fans are well aware of it. Hence, they are eagerly waiting for Roland Garros 2024 where Nadal might hang his racket.

The Spaniard has played only three matches on the tour since his comeback. Nadal was expected to play at the 2024 Indian Wells but the 37-year-old pulled out of the Masters tournament over fitness concerns. It seems that Nadal is saving himself for his favorite Grand Slam tournament, the 2024 French Open.

Tennis fans are also aware of the happenings and hence the demand for tickets for this year’s Roland Garros has skyrocketed. As per a post on social media, there are more than 70,000 fans waiting in queue to get their hands on the tickets for the main draw matches.

It is worth mentioning that the tickets for Roland Garros 2024 went on sale on 13 March. In just two days, fans have rushed to the website to get their hands on match tickets resulting in the queue getting longer and longer.

How is Rafael Nadal preparing for Roland Garros 2024?

While fans eagerly wait for the ‘King of Clay’ to return to action and lift the title at Roland Garros 2024, Rafael Nadal is putting in the hard yards to be fit for the mega event. The 37-year-old is not taking any chances with his body and hence has played minimal tennis so far this season.

It seems Nadal is saving himself for the Roland Garros 2024. After pulling out of the 2024 Indian Wells, Nadal is also set to miss out on the Miami Open. The Spaniard has not played here since 2017 and is not on the entry list for the Masters tournament this year as well.

However, Nadal looks set to return to action with the Monte Carlos Masters, the first major clay tournament of the season. The 11-time champion is named on the initial entry list and tournament director David Massey is confident about Nadal’s participation.

This event will work as a dress rehearsal for the 2024 French Open where the intensity of the matches will be even higher.
