A Dual fan moment! Shirley Manson expresses amazement at meeting Venus Williams after her concert

Garbage is an American rock band formed in 1993 and still has all of its members intact after almost three decades. The lineup consists of vocalist Shirley Manson, a Scottish singer, and American musicians Duke Erikson(guitar, bass, keyboards), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards), and Butch Vig (drums, production). Shirley Manson has the opportunity to meet Venus Williams and was awestruck by her.
Manson in her Instagram post revealed that she was a big fan of the Williams sisters growing up. Venus and her little sister Serena Williams ushered an era of sibling dominance in women’s tennis like no other. Together they have a combined 122 singles titles and 40 Grand Slams. They also have 14 Grand Slams in doubles and are ranked 1st and 2nd in terms of highest prize money earnings in women’s tennis. The sisters also played each other 9 times in the Grand Slam finals. They had put their athletic prowess on display and provided huge inspiration to millions of people worldwide.

Shirley Manson talked about how women in sports or in any sphere, in general, were disregarded. She also talked about how the achievements of women were discredited. She then wrote that she feels fortunate to have witnessed the athleticism, work ethic, and dominance of the Williams sisters on the court. She feels grateful for all the hard work and morale boost the sisters have given the women. Manson was awestruck by Venus as she met her after her concert.
To Manson’s surprise, Venus Williams is a huge fan of the band and their works. She was amazed when Venus dropped a reference to one of their lesser-known songs. Mason wrote a heartfelt caption for Venus and it seems like it was a great moment for the two amazing people who enjoy each other’s works a lot.
