Patrick Mouratoglou, the longtime coach of Serena Williams has parted ways with her this year. He is a French tennis coach and sports commentator. He has been the coach of Serena from June 2012 to 2022.

Patrick had announced a few weeks ago that he will be parting ways with Serena and will become the new coach of the Romanian superstar and the former French Open and the Wimbledon Champion, Simona Halep.

From the details conveyed by Patrick, it seemed like the decision was taken with both sides being completely okay with the situation but with the little news that was speculated among fans confirmed that both Serena and Venus unfollowed the coach on Instagram, thus giving more signs that split might not be as amicable as it seemed.

Patrick Mouratoglou left Serena’s side and joined the team of Simona Halep, full-time. Halep is looking to get into the top 100 and turn back the clocks to come back to her Grand Slam-winning days. She hired Patrick and she will be expecting a lot of insights and improvement from the former coach of one of the best women’s tennis players of all time.

Serena Williams and her sister Venus on the other hand have not formally announced their retirement which leaves the fans open to interpretation if the wondrous siblings will ever take the court again. There is some speculation regarding Serena making her return and there’s also some whisper about the sisters taking the court side by side as a doubles partner, and for that, they will look for a new coach. This might be one of the reasons for the ‘unfollow business’.
