Emma Raducanu defeated Alison van Uytvanck in straight sets to get off to a strong start at her maiden Wimbledon as a Grand Slam champion. The 19-year-old won a challenging first-round match 6-4 6-4 after overcoming a shaky start on her Centre Court debut.
In her pre-match training session, Raducanu was working out in the fitness area with her team and it appeared to be a light-hearted session. She was sporting a Nike Rafael Nadal t-shirt as the four of them played spike ball in teams. The middle of the t-shirt was imprinted with Nadal’s distinctive bull insignia, and Raducanu has previously sported his clothing. Emma Raducanu represented Rafael Nadal at her Miami Open press conference in March by donning a Nadal cap.

On Twitter, Rafael Nadal‘s admirers were eager to tweet their support for the World No. 11, adding that it gave them yet more reason to adore her. Others believed the t-shirt would bring her success at Wimbledon, something she greatly needs considering her underwhelming season thus far.
