The 26-year-old former World No. 1 announced her retirement in March last year which shocked everyone involved with the game. Barty cited the lack of physical or emotional drive to continue. In her career, she became one of the most loved players due to her grace and calm composure on and off the court.

The news has not been made public by the Australian Open or Tennis Australia because Barty is known to be not a big fan of fanfare. But local newspapers have reported about the same. Will she present the trophy to the winner herself or just be present there is no final yet.
