Agnieszka Radwanska feels despite becoming the World No. 1, Iga Swiatek is yet to play a historic match of the standard of the Federer-Nadal rivalry

Iga Swiatek, the world number one has had an incredible year where she went on to win two Grand Slam titles of the year. She won her maiden US Open title beating Ons Jabeur in straight sets in a thrilling final at the Arthur Ashe stadium as it was her third singles major title. She was on a 9-match winning streak until her loss in the finals of the Ostrava Open.

Agnieszka Radwanska, the former professional tennis player from Poland, appreciated Swiatek for dominating the Tour and becoming the world number 1 at such a young age and in no time which is a proud moment for the country. But she also stated that the Pole hasn’t faced much competition and compared her matches level with that between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Radwanska said that “I didn’t expect that after finishing my adventure with professional tennis, we would have a tennis player at the top so quickly. Iga is great, she has been number 1 for a long time, and she has a very high level and style. Currently, there is no top competitor, opponents know she will win at least one set in every match. When the intensity is so high, a lot of girls fall, it’s a shame that so far she hasn’t played a historic match in the style of Federer‐Nadal

She decided to donate her total prize money from the tournament towards mental health awareness activities by a Polish non-profitable organization.

Swiatek has already won six titles in the clay season including the singles title at the French Open. She was on a 37-match winning streak until her loss in the quarter-finals of the Poland Open.
