In the highly exciting world of tennis, players are often under the spotlight for not performing their best. One such player is Stefanos Tsitsipas, who has not been able to top his best performance, which was to reach the finals back in 2022. Relating to his situation, former American tennis player Pam Shriver gives a few insights in a podcast.

“I know what it’s like to be a chaser and not quite get there. It was exhausting. I had about eight or nine years where I was somewhere between three and seven in the world, trying to chase down Chrissie [Evert], Martina [Navratoliva], then [Steffi] Graf and [Monica] Seles, and I eventually hit the wall around when I was 27–28.”
said Pam on the Inside interview.

Continuing further, she added, “So, whether or not that’s happening to Tsitsipas now, and kind of like disheartened now, seeing the quality of Alcaraz, Sinner, and even Shelton.”

The American empathizes with Tsitsipas, who also seems to be going through the same situation of being stuck on a rank and not being able to improve it. Pam also suggests that Tsitsipas might be overwhelmed due to the meteoric rise of youngsters.
