Tennis coach Willy Masur revealed his thoughts on the possible breakup between Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter due to the United Cup 2024.
With Australia and Great Britain being in the same group along with the United States, it is possible that the couple will be pitted against each other in the mixed doubles event. However, former tennis player and coach Willy Masur had a few opinions on the possible breakup.
This could mark the end of a beautiful relationship. Alex could find himself in a situation where he plays three sets against Cam Norrie and it may not be in his best interest to play mixed doubles. But him facing Boulter would add a bit of spice.the Australian coach said during an interview at the draw ceremony at his home event.
With de Minaur and Boulter being the highest-ranked men’s and women’s tennis players in their respective nations, it is very likely that there would be a doubles face-off between them. De Minaur will be accompanied by compatriots Ajla Tomljanovic, Storm Hunter, John Millman, Matthew Ebden and Ellen Perez. Boulter on the other hand will have Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, Francesca Jones, Neal Skupski and Maia Lumsden.
The 2024 United Cup will take place between 29th December 2023 to 7th January 2024 in Perth and Sydney. Upon successful results at the tournament, a player will be eligible for up to a maximum of 500 points. Other big names said to participate in the event are Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Iga Swiatek and others.

With de Minaur being the ATP 13th ranked player in the world and Boutler being 55th in the World, they are certainly top-ranked in their nations. The couple have teamed up at the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon. However, this is a different situation, where they might be in a position where they will have to play against each other.
