Kazakhstan ace Alexander Bublik was seen panting and complaining about the heat in Melbourne as he felt the conditions were not ideal to play tennis. Meanwhile, Jack Draper had to call for a medical emergency during his match against Marcos Giron.

Alexander Bublik could not survive in the extreme conditions of Melbourne as the Kazakh ace succumbed to Sumit Nagal in three sets. Bublik could not even claim one set against the World No.137. After claiming the first set 6-4, Draper suffered a drop in intensity. As a result, the Briton lost the next two sets. While he could score 3 points in the second set against Marcos Giron’s six, Draper scored four points in the third set to keep himself alive in the contest.

The 22-year-old then pulled his socks up and got things right in the next two sets to save himself from any embarrassment. Draper claimed the fourth and fifth set 6-0, 6-2, and eventually won the match. Although it took three hours and twenty minutes for Draper to overcome the Giron challenge, the Briton would be happy to end on the right side of the result.
