In a recent interview with ‘Tennis Magazin’, the former Swiss tennis pro Marc Rosset was asked to name the strongest player on the ATP circuit from the newer generation of tennis players. The 52-year-old won the Men’s singles’ Gold at the Summer Olympics in 1992.
Rosset, without the slightest hint of hesitation, named Germany’s Alexander Zverev as the strongest player in tennis currently, outside of the older generation of players represented by Novak Djokovic. The Swiss went on to call the German the ‘most dominant player’, when he plays aggressively on-court.
Justifying the reasoning for his pick, Rosset stated:
If he plays like he did against Nadal at Roland Garros, he can dominate any player. He beat Roger and Djokovic at the ATP Finals, he serves missiles, he can move around the baseline like Djokovic and he can accelerate the ball at any time. He covers the court like Djokovic. If he plays aggressively, the outcome of the match is in his hands. I love this player And for his size, he moves incredibly well.Marc Rosset via Tennis Magazin (H/T: welovetennis)
Speaking about Zverev’s dominance, Rosset had the following to say:
Zverev. When he plays aggressively inside the court, for me he is by far the most dominant player. If he plays like he did against Nadal in Roland Garros, he can dominate any player.
Drawing comparisons with other higher-ranked players of similar height like Stefanos Tsistsipas and Daniil Medvedev, Rosset praised the German’s swiftness on court and his serves.
It's very funny because if you look at Tsitsipas, Medvedev and Zverev – Zverev is the one who moves the best for his size and then there's his serve.
Marc Rosset on training with Roger Federer when the Swiss was a newbie
Roger Federer is one of the greatest tennis players in the world. The 20 Grand Slam triumphs and numerous tournament victories tell the story of a player who was loved across continents.

However, there was a time when the Swiss Legend was struggling with behavioral issues. Rosset also shared this instance about his fellow tennis compatriot.
Here is what he had to say about the same:
I remember the first time I trained with him (Federer). He was the new Swiss talent, but he was so lazy. Usually when you train on the circuit as a youngster you are a little stressed, you want to play well, you are very nervous. This guy came onto the court like he didn’t care at all. I was like, ‘Wow'.
At the time of this incident, Federer was quite young then and was yet to make his debut on the ATP Tour.
