Alexander Zverev, the 25-year-old German professional finally made his return to the Grand Slams as he competed at the Australian Open after a seven-month-long absence. In the latter stages of 2022, Zverev sustained an injury that had him sidelined. He looked unready to compete as he struggled to keep up with Michael Mmoh in the second round of the tournament.

After battling out in the first round of the Australian Open against Juan Pablo Varillas, a match that Zverev won in four sets. The German was not upto the mark in the second-round encounter against Mmoh.

After his loss, Zverev said, “I had no expectations or goals. It was a good test for me, now I know where I am physically. There’s still a long way to go back to where I was.

Michael Mmoh to face J.J. Wolf in the third round of the Australian Open

After overcoming a mammoth task by beating Alexander Zverev in the second round of the Australian Open. The American showed amazing resilience and even after dropping the first set to Zverev, he didn’t back down and made a comeback.

After the first set, Mmoh didn’t give Zverev a single chance to come back into the game. Winning three straight sets from that point on, Mmoh made a statement to his fans by defeating the German professional.

In the next round of the tournament, Mmoh will be going up against compatriot J.J. Wolf. In an encounter that promises to be yet another cracker of a match, Mmho will be full of confidence from his second-round win and will be looking to progress further into the competition.
