ATP decided to look into the allegations in October 2021

ATP has no such protocols to look into the allegations made by Olya Sharypova. Despite the pressure exerted on the ATP to launch an investigation, yet the governing body decided to remain silent on the matter. It was not until a year later in October 2021 that ATP decided to look into this matter.
“The allegations raised against Alexander Zverev are serious and we have a responsibility to address them. We hope our investigation will allow us to establish the facts and determine appropriate follow-up action,” said ATP CEO Massimo Calvelli.
After 15 months of independent investigation, the ATP announced that it would take no disciplinary action against Alexander Zverev. The report stated that there was insufficient evidence to establish any sort of domestic abuse.
“Based on a lack of reliable evidence and eyewitness reports, in addition to conflicting statements by Sharypova, Zverev and other interviewees, the investigation was unable to substantiate the allegations of abuse, or determine that violations of ATP’s on-site offences or player major offenses rules took place,” the ATP said.
“As a result, no disciplinary action against Zverev will be taken by ATP. This determination may however be reevaluated should new evidence come to light, or should any legal proceedings reveal violations of ATP rules. Zverev has consistently denied all allegations and supported ATP’s investigation,” the statement added.
