Former World No. 21 Amanda Anisimova took the world by storm when she entered the top 100 rankings when she was just 17 years-old. She was on a roll last year as she made a semi-final finish at the Roland Garros 2022 and was the quarter-finalist at the Wimbledon 2022.

Her caption reads, “I’ve really been struggling with my mental health and burnout since the summer of 2022. It’s become unbearable being at tennis tournaments. At this point, my priority is my mental well-being and taking a break for some time. I’ve worked as hard as I could to push through it. I will miss being out there, and I appreciate all the continuous support.”

Anisimova was going through a lot as she lost her father and coach, Konstantin, at the age of 52 due to a heart attack. This tragic loss took a heavy toll on her mental well-being, which was visible through her gameplay as she had a string of disappointing performances. Although she has not given a desired timetable for her return to the court, her fans are desperately waiting for the recipient of two WTA singles titles to return to the court.

Amanda has seen a drastic drop in her rankings, being placed at World No. 46 at the moment. The popular personality has been knocked off right in the first round of every single tournament she has played in this year, giving yet another indication of how low she is in terms of her mental well-being
