Budding American star Peyton Stearns was recently lauded for dashing off-court to help a sick ballkid during her performance at the 2024 Australian Open in Melbourne.
Stearns’s actions come a day after Russian tennis pro Pavel Kotov enraged tennis fans for his outrageous behavior during his opening-round appearance at the Melbourne event.

America’s Peyton Stearns was gearing up for a set point for the second set during her opening round encounter with 14th seed Daria Kasatkina when the Melbourne heat turned up a notch and took a toll on one of the ball kids.
Owing to the sun’s intensity, one of the ball kids at the Kia Arena fell ill and was escorted off-court to receive treatment from the tournament’s officials. During that time, Stearns earned heroics by rushing to the site and offering ice towels to the youngster.
However, despite putting on a good show, the American lost her opening-round encounter after a hard-hitting contest of three sets with a concluding scoreline of 2-6, 6-3, 2-6.
