Amidst harrowing domestic violence allegations, Alexander Zverev donates $5000 to Miami Rescue Mission
Alexander Zverev had a rather tumultuous relationship with Brenda Patea.

Alexander Zverev has donated $5000 to Miami Rescue Mission amidst the domestic abuse allegations chasing him incessantly. The German has continued to feature in the ATP and major tournaments despite being accused of physically abusing and damaging the mental health of his ex-fiance Brenda Patea.
In October last year, a German criminal court found Zverev guilty of domestic abuse, issuing him a fine of about $488,000. His ex-fiance accused the tennis player of pushing her to the wall and choking during one of their quarrels in Berlin, back in May 2020. However, according to German law, a defendant has the right to contest a court order in a public trial, even though the evidence is compelling to support the accusation.

Zverev has maintained his innocence and remains so until the trial in May. This season he has competed in four tournaments and is in preparation for his fifth in Miami.
As the German still awaits his opponent in the second round of the Miami Open, he joined the likes of Hubert Hurkacz, Holger Rune, Caroline Garcia, and Donna Vekic as volunteers at the Miami Rescue Mission. According to ATP, they helped serve dinner to the homeless who lived in shelters in Florida’s beach city.
After rendering his service the German stood alongside his tennis colleagues as he donated $5000 to the Non-governmental organization. This open task by tennis players has become a culture in the Miami Open since last year.
Alexander Zverev to face Felix Augar-Alliassime in the second round of Miami Open
Alexander Zverev will face either Felix Augar-Alliassime or a qualifier in the second round of the Miami Open. The 2018 edition runner-up will be hoping to claim his first title of the season in South Florida.

But that will come with a big ask, as the German is expected to face Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the tournament. He will also have to beat Holger Rune and Alex de Minaur to earn the Indian Wells quarterfinal rematch with the Spaniard.
The only thing lacking in Zverev’s form this season is a title. The 26-year-old helped Germany win the United Cup and also reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open. An exciting performance in Mexico, saw him reach the semi-finals of the Los Cabos Open, before succumbing to Jordan Thompson. At the BNP Paribas Open, he was knocked out by Alcaraz in the last eight.
