Olympians Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf aren’t just legends of the sport. The tennis power couple have been serving some serious couple goals for decades ever since they got married in 2001.

The couple started dating sometime in 1999, especially after the French Open that year. Both of them won the Grand Slam in the singles discipline. It was Graf’s sixth title in Paris and record-extending 22nd career singles Major.

As for Agassi, it was his fourth career singles Major and the only win at Roland Garros. The two were always in the limelight and their relationship was subject to a lot of media coverage. Following their retirements, the two have kept a low profile, especially Graf.

The German rarely appeared for tournaments to catch the action live as she enjoyed the peace of retirement. But despite that, the fans were always excited about any sighting of the pair. The stardom of the power couple was however quite surprising to their kids back then.

Their son, Jaden Gil Agassi was born in 2001 while their daughter Jaz Elle Agassi was born in 2003. While Graf retired in 1999, Agassi played his last in 2006. This led to the young Jaden and Jaz being stunned at the reaction of other people whenever the family was out on their own.

Commenting on this, Agassi recalled the reactions of his kids. He then revealed how they eventually understood and got to terms with their parents’ fame. 

So when people are coming up to us in grocery stores, [Jaden and Jaz] were like, ‘What's up with these people?’ So you go through a whole phase of them going, ‘Well, this makes no sense that the people are coming up as if there’s a big deal. And then they start to put together why it's a big deal.

They start to realize they're looking behind the Wizard of Oz curtain and they realize it's not all that. So there's a healthy balance that kind of is inevitable through the whole process

Much to the disappointment of tennis fans, neither Jaden nor Jaz have followed in the footsteps of their parents. While Jaden is still athletically inclined, Jaz has remained away from the sporting world.

Jaden is a baseball player. He made his debut for the University of Southern California. But a few weeks later, he made the switch to the University of Portland. His relationship with his girlfriend Catherine Holt has many fans of the Agassi family hooked.
