Russian World No. 6 Andrey Rublev, who is one of the key players of Team Europe, accidentally walked into his opponent’s team bench. As expected, the video has already gone viral in the social media world, eliciting a plethora of interesting reactions. With no Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic playing this year and Roger Federer retiring, the Laver Cup is finding it difficult to attract the crowd despite the presence of star players like Rublev.

This year’s Team World consists of star players led by Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, Hubert Hurkacz, and Gael Monfils whereas the Team World consists of three American top seeds and the Canadian star Felix Auger Alliasime. Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Tommy Paul are the Americans being represented in the team World along with Ben Shelton.

With no big names like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, or Stefanos Tsitsiapas, it is up to the other set of top players led by Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud to make an impact in the Laver Cup and bring back the lost glory last year with a heartbreaking loss for the Swiss legend Roger Federer in his farewell tournament.

25-year-old Rublev has had an average season, winning two titles, including the first APT-1000 Masters title in Monte Carlo. This season also handed him another set of Grand Slam quarter-final losses, leading him to have a 0-8 record in the last eight stages of the Grand Slam tournaments.

Rublev will be trying to be clinical in important matches and try to perform his best in tough situations. This year’s Laver Cup is expected to be a tight contest in which there will be crucial matches for Rublev to play out. In order to prove his critics wrong, an important match win to boost his confidence is needed by the Russian World No. 6 player.
