Russian tennis ace Andrey Rublev has revealed some weird compliments he has received from fans so far in his career. Rublev revealed that he has even received marriage proposals from the fans while signing autographs. The Russian said that he receives such compliments every time he meets fans and interacts with them.
Andrey Rublev, who turned pro in 2014 and is currently ranked No. 7 in the world, is in Shanghai for the ATP 1000 tournament. The Russian is eyeing a third ATP title in 2023. Rubley reached the quarterfinals at the 2023 US Open but lost to compatriot Daniil Medvedev. On his return to the tour, at the China Open, Rublev bowed out after losing in the third round.
Nevertheless, the Russian’s career has been on the rise although he is yet to win a Grand Slam title. Rublev is counted among the next superstars and hence enjoys a massive fan following. Wherever the Russian goes, Rublev is surrounded by fans, mostly female. While no one knew what requests he receives from his fans, the Russian has lifted the lid.
Talking to Tennis TV ahead of the Shanghai Masters, Rubley revealed what sorts of compliments and gifts he receives from his fans. “A lot of compliments. While I am signing (autographs) they are saying lots of things. Photo, photo, photo…handsome, cutie…I like you, I love you, can I hug you…,” said Rublev. “I don’t remember but in general, yes,” the Russian said about receiving marriage proposals.
Andrey Rublev says it is impossible to find a taxi in China
Further talking about his experience in China, as it was Andrey Rublev’s fourth appearance at the China Open, the Russian said that he finds anything special here but one thing Rublev pointed out was that it is impossible to get a taxi in China.

The Russian said that when players have a free day and they want to go out; it is a herculean task to get a taxi.
Talking about Rublev’s performance at the 2023 China Open, the Russian could last only two rounds. While he beat Cameron Norrie in his first-round match, Rublev lost to Ugo Humbert in the second round. This was the Russian’s third consecutive second-round exit at the ATP 500 tournament. Nevertheless, Rublev will be now focused on the Shanghai Masters, where he has been given a bye in the first round.
He will face Quentin Halys in the second round. The Russian will be eyeing his second ATP 1000 title this year and also a spot in the Nitto ATP Finals slated to take place later this year.
