He played two back-to-back marathon matches against Matteo Berrettini and Thanasi Kokkinakis; victorious on both occasions at Melbourne Park before succumbing to Roberto Bautista Agut in the third round.

In the ongoing Qatar Open, he gave an incredible performance despite losing the first set to win the first-round match against Lorenzo Sonego. The scoreline read 4-6, 6-1, 7(7)-6(4) in favor of Andy Murray.

Both the players are many years younger in age than the former World No.1. The match against the Australian went on for five sets and finished at 4 AM the next morning. However, he was able to beat both of them.
