Andy Murray‘s attempt to coach his 5-year-old daughter Edie has come to a disappointing end. The British tennis star, who has four children with his wife Kim Sears, took on the role of a coach during his time away from the tour after his first-round exit at the Monte-Carlo Masters.

However, Murray‘s coaching debut was short-lived as his daughter Edie refused to play under his tutelage anymore. The 5-year-old penned a note to her father, expressing her reluctance to continue receiving coaching from him. Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, has previously expressed his desire to coach after retiring from professional tennis. However, it seems his daughter is not quite ready to follow in his footsteps.

Murray’s coaching career may have hit a roadblock with his daughter, but the tennis star remains focused on his professional career. Despite his early exit in Monte-Carlo, he will continue to compete on the ATP tour and is expected to make a return to the court soon.

As for Edie, perhaps she will find a love for tennis in her own time and under a different coach. In any case, it’s clear that the Murray family has a strong passion for the sport, and their love for tennis is sure to continue for years to come.

Former world No. 1 Andy Murray has made a U-turn on his previous decision to skip the rest of the clay season after his early exit in Monte Carlo. The Brit has arrived in Madrid to practice ahead of the upcoming Masters’ event.

Murray, who crashed out of the Monte Carlo Masters to Alex de Minaur in just 86 minutes, was left frustrated with his performance, calling it “one of the worst of my career.” However, the former champion in Madrid seems determined to get back to his winning ways as he prepares for the tournament.

Murray, currently ranked world No. 52, has a strong history in the Madrid Open, having won the title back in 2015. He also produced an impressive display in the Caja Magica last year, defeating Dominic Thiem and Denis Shapovalov en route to the third round.

Despite his recent struggles, Murray’s dedication to the sport has not faltered. The Brit has been known to fight through injuries and setbacks, always striving to improve his game. His return to the Madrid Open shows that he is ready to compete and prove his worth on the clay court. Murray will be looking to build on his past success in Madrid and use the tournament as a springboard for the rest of the season.
