The 35-year-old, Andy Murray was not happy with the timings of the night matches held in the Australian Open. Earlier today, he spoke in the press conference after his match where he said he was disappointed with these late-night matches. And reminded everyone that these kinds of timings are of no use to anyone.

After winning the epic five hours and forty-five minutes marathon match, he spoke to the press where he expressed his disappointment. The match ended past 4 AM, local time and he wished for a more organized scheduling of the major. In this epic match, Andy won a five-setter against the local boy, Thanasi Kokkinakis in 4-6, 6-7(4-7), 7-6(7-5), 6-3, 7-5.

The day-4 of the ongoing Australian Open now records for having the second-longest match of men’s singles in the history of the tournament. After losing the first two sets, Andy made an epic comeback winning the next three sets to win the match.

In addition, Andy said that he would not want his child to come home at 4 AM. Not only for the ball kids but also many people who are involved with this match had been affected due to these odd timings.

In the post-match press conference he said “If my child was a ball kid for a tournament, they’re coming home at 5 in the morning, as a parent, I’m snapping at that. It’s not beneficial for them. It’s not beneficial for the umpires, the officials. I don’t think it’s amazing for the fans. It’s not good for the players.”

Andy Murray cruises past Thanasi Kokkinakis into the third round

The tennis world had just witnessed one of the once-in-a-lifetime matches. However, the match was anticipated to be a good one by the tennis pundits and experts before the match. This was because both the players are known to be fighters on the court, however, this went beyond good. Fans witnessed some unbelievable rallies and jaw-dropping shots throughout the match.

On the contrary, Thanasi was disappointed after giving his everything on the court. And had a standing ovation after the match ended. As a result, Andy will be facing Roberto Bautista Agut in his next round tomorrow.
