Andy Murray withdraws from the Atlanta Open

Andy Murray

The 3-times grand slam winner has withdrawn from the upcoming 2022 Atlanta Open which is about to begin next week, he was set to play in the tournament before going to the Washington Open but instead, he decided to withdraw his name from the tournament in the fear of getting injured.

His decision of not overplaying came in the wake of what happened before the Wimbledon, The abdominal issue hindered his Wimbledon preparations as he was forced to stop practising serves and pulled out of the Queen’s Club Championships before he failed to make it out of the second round at the All England Club. And the US Open winner of 2012 looks to avoid making the same mistake ahead of the US Open by cutting down his matches.

Andy’s decision to take his name back is great for his body as he doesn’t want his muscles to be overstressed, but his decision will somehow cut the preparation before the US Open as his match practice will be reduced going into the final Slam of the season where he stands another good opportunity to boost his ranking.
