The 2023 season is coming to an end, and all the players are severely getting themselves ready for the first competition of the 2024 season, i.e., the Brisbane International.

It has been brought to light that star players such as Andy Murray, Holger Rune, and Ben Shelton are expected to play at the competition, but this time in the doubles format.

With both Murray and Shelton having last played at the Paris Masters, they look to resume action at the Australian tournament. Murray has decided to partner alongside Danish tennis sensation Holger Rune, who has been quite active recently, be it playing actual traditional tennis or the more modernized version of the sport, at the UTS Grand Tournament.

Shelton, on the other hand, will join forces with Ugo Humbert for the competition and has a lot to say ahead of the partnership.

I’m thrilled to be playing the Brisbane International for the first time in 2024. My first trip to Australia was last January, and it was such an amazing experience. The fans were so welcoming. I’m looking forward to exploring Brisbane and playing in front of the local fans.

Andy Murray’s records in the doubles format

Andy Murray has been known solely for his singles titles and records, but when we look at his doubles records, they aren’t lacking in any angles either. Murray has a win-loss ratio of about 80–82 in ATP competitions, which counts to almost a 50% win conversion rate.

He has won a total of 3 titles in the doubles format and has also achieved a career-best rating of 51 back in 2011 in the ATP doubles rankings.

Apart from this, Murray is also known for his amazing performances in the Olympics, a tournament he brings to light whenever he plays. He had picked up the silver medal in the mixed doubles section of the 2012 London Olympics alongside Laura Robson, losing to the Belarusian duo of Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirnyi.
