Former Israeli tennis player Andy Ram has slammed Novak Djokovic for not being more ‘sensitive’ to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While Ram is not the first tennis player to comment on the issue, he is the one who is the closest to it.
Quite a number of tennis players have commented on the war between Israel and Palestine. Former tennis player Martina Navratilova has been one of the pioneers of the sport who has addressed her opinion on the conflict. Another prominent controversy was the one surrounding Ons Jabeur, when she spoke out in support of Palestine. However, Andy Ram has taken a rather unique approach to talk on the issue.

The Israeli has attacked Novak Djokovic for not being vocal about the issue.
I'm sure tennis players have heard of these stories. They know what happened. It's a bit disappointing because, Djokovic, as a father, a parent, should be thinking about the little children kidnapped, murdered and burned alive.Andy Ram via broadcast on the I24News (H/T: welovetennis)
The former doubles World No. 5 player has commented that given the Serb’s situation, he needed to be more sensitive about the children being murdered in the conflict.
Nevertheless, the Serb has remained quiet on the issue. While his impact on the sport might create waves if he chooses to comment, he has been silent till now. However, a lot of other tennis players and celebrities in general have been open about their opinions in the conflict.
Rafael Nadal places high praise on Novak Djokovic’s 2023 season
22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has heaped high praise on Djokovic as he talks about the Serb’s 2023 season. While at the beginning of the year, it was the Spaniard who held the most number of Grand Slam titles in the men’s category, Djokovic quickly surpassed this record as he won three of the four Grand Slam titles this year.

The truth is that I imagined Djokovic winning Grand Slam this year, but I did not imagine him winning three because I think there is another young generation that is very powerful.Nadal in interview with EFE
He also said that while Carlos Alcaraz lost the opportunity to win the Roland Garros against Novak, he ultimately made up for it at Wimbledon.
Nevertheless, despite Djokovic being one of his main competitors throughout his career, Nadal was not shy in appreciating the Serb for his victories. Their rivalry on the court is one of the more iconic ones in tennis history. The duo have played each other 59 times in their career, with Novak winning 30 times and Rafa 29 times.
