Former tennis player and coach Brad Gilbert has also named his contenders who he believes had the best serve in the sport. He chooses Pete Sampras and Boris Becker, who had best serves in tennis in the 1980s and 1990s. In the early 2000s, he thinks Roger Federer, Andy Roddick and Goran Ivanišević had the best serves.
Andy Roddick also features on Patrick Mouratoglou‘s list of players who have had the best serve in the history of the sport. He is mentioned alongside John Isner, Pete Sampras, Nick Kyrgios and Ivo Karlovic. However, the US Open 2003 champion does not think that he deserves to be included in the list and that too higher up in the rankings. He also gave the names of many others who think deserved to be included on the list.
In his latest social media post, the American coach shared his views.
impossible to not have Pete higher, he did it in huge matches. what about Becker and Goran, list for serv since so many good ones☝️ should be top 10 https://t.co/3sQV6gikge

However, the 40-year old think otherwise and replied on Brad Gilbert’s social media post.
My serve wasn’t better than Pete, Goran, Karlovic etc ….. Also someone like Arthurs who didn’t have much else. Doesn’t mean his serve wasn’t one of the best

“My serve wasn’t better than Pete, Goran, Karlovic etc ….. Also someone like Arthurs who didn’t have much else. Doesn’t mean his serve wasn’t one of the best,” his caption read.
To this Brad Gilbert replied by sharing an article in his latest social media post.
The former World No.1 reacted and replied again on social media.
“Per usual headline deceiving. Didn’t rubbish anyone. Just said my serve wasn’t as good as people represent in comparison to other all time servers. If anything I “rubbished” myself,” his caption read.
However, one of his fans on social media does not think it was right for Andy Roddick to undermine himself.
“Hey Andy! Allow me to disagree with you. As someone who has thoroughly watched, studied and analyzed your career, specifically your serve, I firmly believe that you are the greatest server of all time. In fact, you are the only big server to have ever reached the No. 1 ranking,” the caption read.
To this Andy Roddick replied again.
Pete Sampras and Boris Becker weren’t big servers?

Andy Roddick’s list of players with best serves
The US Open 2003 champion, who during his playing days was a great server himself, thinks that his serve was not as great as other players. He puts Pete Sampras, Goran Ivanišević, Wayne Arthurs, and Ivo Karlovic much above him in the list. Also, he admires Boris Becker’s serve.
Andy Roddick is the only player in the last twenty years in American tennis history to win a Grand Slam title. He was also instrumental in the USA team’s Davis Cup-winning campaign in 2007. The former World No.1 has also been inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2017.
