Young French hope Arthur Fils bags a major Lacoste sponsorship and here’s all we know about it

Arthur Fils had a season to remember in 2023. The young Frenchman won his first Singles title in Lyon. Moreover, he went on to beat two of the top-10 players, Casper Rudd and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Though Fils hasn’t performed in the major Grand Slams till now, it’s only a matter of time for a player of his potential. And now, owing to this constant performance, Fils has bagged a sponsorship from the luxury French Company, Lacoste.

This signing of Lacoste symbolizes the brand’s investment in future talents such as Fils. The official Instagram handle of the brand posted regarding this. With the post was a quote from Arthur Fils that said,

The 19-year-old joined an elite list of players, including Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov. Thus, Fils will have big shoes to follow. Fils will try to solidify his position both for himself and the brand he is going to represent. Previously, Fils was sponsored by the Japanese company ASICS, with which he has ended the partnership.

Arthur Fils’ performance in the Grand Slam events will determine the fate of his career

After a superb 2023 season, where he also reached the finals of ATP NextGen tour, Fils will look to continue his good form and momentum in 2024. The Frenchman will be entering the Australian Open as World ranked 36.

This will be his first time playing in the Australian Open down under. Though he doesn’t have any substantial experience of the surface, he will try and register some major performances during the tournament.

There’s no doubt regarding the skillset and talent of Fils. But he has yet to go big in any of the Major Grand Slams.

The players of his generation, such as Carlos Alcaraz, have already been knocking on the doors for Grand Slam finals. Thus, the young Frenchman will have to be up and running in the next few seasons to make a name for himself. With all of the ‘Big Three’ almost on the verge of retiring, it will be a very good opportunity for players like him to make a mark.
