Hours after Russian tennis ace Andrey Rublev was defaulted for swearing at the line judge during his semifinal match at the Dubai Tennis Championships, French tennis player Arthur Fils was captured insulting the match supervisor in Santiago.
Fils, who was supposedly upset with the conditions of the court at the ATP 250 tournament is seen swearing at the supervisor. In a video going viral on social media, Fils is seen shouting and swearing at the supervisor.
The Frenchman looks unhappy with the court conditions as he claimed about informing the supervisor before the start of the match. The user who shared the video clips also claimed that Fils was only a warning for obscenity.

As this incident involving Arthur Fils took only a few hours after the Andre Rublev incident, a comparison was bound to happen and as per the reaction on social media, fans were not happy about the difference in the severity of the punishments for the two players.
Many felt that Fils should have been penalized for his behavior just like Rublev was defaulted over his emotional outburst.
It's odd that literally none of the western media are talking about this blatant intimidation yesterday by Top 50 player Arthur Fils in Santiago. It almost feels like one rule for one and one rule for others. This incident is clearly worse then Rublevs.A user wrote on X while resharing Arthur Fils’ video.

However, a few tennis fans felt that Rublev’s actions were more insulting and deserved a severe punishment.
It is worth mentioning that players have been complaining about the poor conditions of the court at the Chile Open.
Talking about Fils, the Frenchman lost to Pedro Martinez in the quarterfinals in three sets.
