Former Australian tennis star and commentator Jelena Dokic joined hands with Belarusian tennis ace Aryna Sabalenka to raise funds for the victims of domestic violence. Dokic got a towel signed by Sabalenka after her semifinal win over Coco Gauff at the 2024 Australian Open.

It was the same towel Dokic got from Sabalenka after the Belarusian’s quarterfinal win against Barbora Krejcikova. Dokic has said that she will auction this towel to raise funds for the kids and women who suffer due to domestic violence.

Aryna Sabalenka into 2024 Australian Open final

Coming to Aryna Sabalenka’s campaign at the 2024 Australian Open, the defending champion is just one win away from lifting her second Australian Open title. Sabalenka has been phenomenal in title defense as the Belarusian ace is yet to drop a set.

The second seed dominated her opponents before the semifinals. However, against Coco Gauff, Sabelenka seemed to falter big time as the memories of the US Open final came rushing back. The Belarusian lost four games on the trot in the opening set to go 5-6 from being 5-2. Nevertheless, Sabalenka got her act together to win the opening set in the tiebreaker.

In the second set too, Sabalenka trailed 4-3. But the defending champion was not ready to let it slip as she came back storming and won three games back-to-back to complete a straight-set win over Coco Gauff. Sabalenka will meet either Qinwen Zheng or Dayana Yastremska in the final.
