The Belarus ace Aryna Sabalenka won the 2023 Australian from a set down to continue that momentum into the next edition of the tournament, where she had an even better run. The 25-year-old won the Open without having dropped a set getting her name amongst the many legends of tennis.
After a thrilling victory in Melbourne, she got mic’d up on the WTA Insider, where Sabalenka opened up about the importance of her second singles Major. She and her whole team have been the highlight of the season, as they are full of energy playing along with Sabalenka. I cannot ignore the fact that I'm really proud that I was able to understand myself better. I have this control of myself. That's quite an obvious thing. Everyone sees that, but it's really tough to improve when you're such an emotional person and you're used to getting super emotional every time. To actually become really in control on court, it's really tough work.
Proud of herself, the Belarusian admitted to the difficulties in trying to get herself in control, as she is an emotional person. With a comfortable team full of positive auras, Sabalenka is en route to improve herself and win more Slams in the future.
