Aryna Sabalenka defeated good friend Paula Badosa in an absolute nail-biting Quarterfinal match at the Porsche Grand Prix, Stuttgart Open. The score was 4-6, 6-4, and 6-4 in favor of Sabalenka. The two players are very close to each other and vibe hard off-court. The players hit it off when they met each other for doubles pairing in the Miami Open in 2022. The duo, popularly known as Sabadosa, has been inseparable since then, off-court though. Both have immense respect and love for each other, but when they are playing against each other, they park that friendship aside and play at the highest level possible. So it’s no wonder that their Quarter-final match was an absolute ripper.

In the post-match interview, an ecstatic-looking Sabalenka said, it’s tough to balance the act of on-court rivalry and off-court love. Since the match was so intense, Aryna Sabalenka kept screaming at several winners to cheer herself on. She was wondering if her screaming was distracting Paula Badosa, making it hard to concentrate. Sabalenka said, “There were some moments on court where I was about to scream ‘come on’ then I was like ‘I don’t know, should I or not. She’s my friend, she’ll be thinking I’m stupid.’“

There were other moments when she thought the screaming might make her good friend Paula judge her in some way. Anyway, Sabalenka continued her screaming game to reach the semifinals. “Anyway, I kept screaming, thinking that I will explain to her (Paula Badosa) later,” said the Belarusian star.

World no. 2 Aryna Sabalenka will face Anastasia Potapova in the Semi-final match on 22nd April at the Stuttgart Open. In 2023, she has already won Australian Open singles titles and reached the finals of the Indian Wells masters.

Recently at the Miami Open, Aryna Sabalenka and Paula Badosa were caught on camera in a warm embrace. A fan posted a particularly cheeky photo of the duo on Twitter. Aryna Sabalenka commented on the post, saying, “Just to clarify… We have boyfriends,” followed by a laughing emoji.

The two players were also seen having a lot of good times at the 2022 World Tennis League. They both were part of the Team Falcons, which was led by Novak Djokovic and also had Grigor Dimitrov as a member. Aryna and Paula were seen doing many fun videos on the court, being their goofy self while cheering on their team.
