Aryna Sabalenka hilariously instructed Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina not to commend the former’s team during the duo’s trophy presentation ceremony at 2024 Brisbane International grounds on Sunday, January 7.

The summit clash of the WTA 500 event witnessed the triumph of Rybakina after she registered a commanding straight-set victory over the Belarusian.

Furthermore, the Kazakhstani also dished out a bagel against Sabalenka inside the Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane after saving three break points to capture the opening set.

Subsequently, the Belarusian was far from throwing in the towel and managed to show some resistance in the second set.

However, her efforts simply couldn’t match Rybakina’s formidable form, which helped the latter seal the second set without much resistance and conclude the match with a score line that read 6-0, 6-3.

Following her victory at the hardcourt event, Elena Rybakina applauded the former World No. 1 for a constructive week at Brisbane during the pair’s on-court trophy presentation ceremony.

However, the 24-year-old was hilariously interrupted by Aryna Sabalenka when she tried to pay laurels to her team.

2022 Wimbledon champion Rybakina earned laurels for her home country after she became the first Kazakhstani to be ranked in the top-10 rankings of the WTA and further reoccupied the World No. 3 spot with her Brisbane International victory.

While talking in a post-match press conference after bagging the Brisbane International title, World No. 3 was asked about her performance expectations at the Flushing Meadows slam.

I just try to focus on my game and go so far in the tournament that I'm going to be playing always on center court. Well, I hope I'm going to start on the big court this year. Of course, before I was a bit upset why I'm playing on that court, not on another on.
Rybakina said during a post-match press conference.

It is worth noting that the previous edition of the Australian Open witnessed major controversy after Rybakina was assigned a court, which is typically allocated to qualifiers and wild card entrees.
