The defending champion of the Australian Open, Ash Barty, returns to Melbourne Park for the Kids Tennis Day event. It’s been 10 months since the former world No. 1 retired from professional tennis. She has, however, recently made headlines with her pregnancy. For context, the news of her pregnancy and her mentoring of a young wildcard player in the AO 2023 have put her in the news.

Recently, she was named the most popular athlete in Australia, overtaking some prominent names like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Tennis Australia and the Australian Open have now invited her to be a part of the Kids Tennis Day event. She will return to Melbourne Park on January 14, 2023, for the event, along with some other fan favorites.

With that being said, fans were delighted to hear the news of her return and tweeted saying they missed her. The local star is still the most popular personality in Australia, and the fans will be elated to see their favorite player on the court again. They are indeed happy that their star is contributing to the future of tennis in Australia.

Home fans feel that Tennis Australia is lucky to have players like Ash who is contributing a lot to the sport. The tickets for the event are available on the ticketmaster website. The prices range from $0 to $15 for kids and adults. Hence, kids from less than a year old to 15 years old are allowed. However, the organizers would want this event to be a grand success and help the sport develop.

She and her former coaches Craig Tyzzer and Jason Stoltenberg will be a part of this initiative. Hence they will help with on-and-off-court docket mentoring to gamers and coaches from Tennis Australia’s improvement pathway.
