This week, Zverev has displayed many promising signs, which he will likely seek to build upon. This achievement should enhance his confidence as he enters the highly anticipated semifinal against Rublev, who has emerged as one of the top players in recent months.
Despite Rublev’s somewhat lackluster performance this week, it is worth noting that Zverev has completely dominated their rivalry, having won all five of their previous matches without dropping a set. Their most recent encounter occurred in the 2021 Cincinnati final, where Zverev handily defeated Rublev 6-2, 6-3. His previous record over Rublev will help Zverev mentally coming into the match.
