The 24-year-old beat Taylor Fritz, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev in his last three matches at the multi-nation event. The straight-set win over Djokovic would have sent the Australian over the moon. The confidence from the wins in the United Cup reflected in Minaur’s match against Carlos Alcaraz as he beat the Spanish ace in three sets.

Now, he is slated to meet 33-year-old Milos Raonic who will be hoping to upset the Aussie. Raonic last played at the Davis Cup Finals wherein he registered a win in the quarterfinals for his team. The 33-year-old Canadian would want to improve his record on the tour and go deep in the tournament.
