5-time grand slam champion Maria Sharapova is one of the most celebrated players in women’s tennis in contemporary times and played a very vital role in popularizing women’s tennis. She is amongst the elite list of women that have completed a calendar slam and is also considered one of the prettiest tennis players of all time.

Having said that, Sharapova is still relevant in tennis despite retiring a couple of years ago. And now, two years down the line, she took to social media to announce the birth of her son, Theodore. Sharapova got engaged to British businessman Alexander Gilkes in 2020 after dating him for a couple of years.

In the social post, Sharapova shared a picture of herself holding her baby with Gilkes and revealed that he was born on July 1. She wrote the date in Roman and revealed how much this baby means to her and her family. “Theodore VII•I•MMXXII. The most beautiful, challenging, and rewarding gift our little family could ask for,” the former World No.1 captioned the post.

The tennis community extended their wishes to Sharapova on the birth of her son. Monica Puig and Ajla Tomljanovic were some of the big names who congratulated the Russian. Earlier this year, Sharapova rejoined Forbes’ list of richest self-made women under the age of 40.
