English football star Harry Kane recently made a move to the German club Bayern Munich. Kane left his boyhood club Tottenham Hotspurs with one year left on his contract for a deal close to $120m. The 30-year-old made 435 appearances for the team from North London. The England captain became the most expensive signing in Bundesliga history.
World number 3 and huge Bayern Munich fan Daniil Medvedev couldn’t hide his excitement at the marquee signing. Talking in the pre-tournament conference about the star striker, Medvedev said, “Harry Kane is a big player. It’s like the thing with tennis, same with football. The only thing I can know about football is what I read in the media. In the media it seems like he’s a great leader, great guy.”
Talking about the possible role Kane could play in the team, Medvedev remarked, “He’s already completely in the team. Let’s see how it goes on the pitch. Hopefully he can score many goals.” Daniil Medvedev had earlier revealed that Harry Kane was his choice of captain in Fantasy football.
Talking to the press after his match in 2021 Wimbledon, Medvedev said, “In my fantasy team I think I have five England guys, or four. I have Kane as captain.” tHE Russian tennis star has earlier revealed that he has been a huge Bayern Munich fan since the age of 12. Medvedev said that he follows Bayern everyday on tour.

The top 2 of Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic head into the US Open as strong favourites far ahead of everyone else. Reigning champion and world number one Carlos Alcaraz won the Wimbledon title beating Djokovic in 5 sets. Meanwhile, Djokovic won the Australian and French Open earlier this year and defeated Alcaraz in the final of the Cincinnati Masters.
World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev is looking forward to disrupting the dominance of the top 2 in the world. Talking about the role he could play at the upcoming tournament, Medvedev said, “I’m not feeling too bad, but I’m going to try. The goal is after this US Open, that we talk about me, so I’m going to try to do it. I just try to win. That’s the most important. But unconsciously, I feel like many times I was playing good in this role (disruptor). Hopefully it can help me these two weeks.”
The 2021 US Open champ will open against Hungarian Attila Balazs and is seeded to meet long-time friend and country-mate Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals. A potential meeting with Wimbledon champion Alcaraz lies in the semi-finals.
