“Because it is b*****it!” Superman star Dean Cain extends his support to Novak Djokovic amid his vaccination debate

Dean Cain and Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic‘s vaccination status has been creating a lot of buzz from the start of the year. Although he was allowed to participate at the US Open in 2021 without any discussion on his vaccination status, he hit a major roadblock when he was deported from Australia at the beginning of the year and it shook him such that he couldn’t defend his French Open title. But he bounced back like a champion winning another singles title at the All England Club which made him undefeated at the SW19 for the last four years.

With this win, he surpasses Roger Federer‘s tally and is just one major away from equalling Rafael Nadal‘s record of the most number of singles title wins. The Serbian considered one of the greatest athletes of all time is not allowed to enter the country for the hard-court swing over his ‘unvaccinated’ status and it has stirred a lot of debate. He stands firm on his decision not to get done with the vaccination which will improve his playing chances but rather chooses to stick to his principles even though it might cost him on losing out on tournaments.

Will Novak Djokovic be allowed to play at the US Open despite changes in the guidelines

Novak Djokovic

As per the latest guidelines, there will be no difference between unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals as it has loosened the COVID-19 standards. However, it is only applicable to US citizens and it was supposed to ease out the conditions for the Serbian but it hasn’t made any improvements in his chances. His participation at Flushing Meadows is still uncertain as Djokovic is technically prohibited from entering the country until and unless he gets vaccinated.

John McEnroe recently pointed out at the chances of the Serbian’s participation at the US Open 2022 and the decision to keep him out of play are totally not understood by the former American player. He even questioned how the changes in the guidelines has not made any sort of changes for Djokovic and stated “I think it is bullshit“. The 21-time champion has been receiving a lot of support from around the world over his participation since he was allowed to play at the same event last year. The latest person to extend his support is the American actor and former professional football player Dean Cain.

Cain expressed his opinion by retweeting McEnroe’s post on social media and captioning it as “Because it is bullshit” which has prevented him to play in the North American swing. he has already missed out to play at the Canadian Open and as well as in the Cincinnati Open. It would be interesting to know how things fair out for Djokovic over the past few days till the US Open starts on 29 August.
