American tennis player Ben Shelton shocked the world today as he clocked a speed of 149 MPH with a particular serve in his Round of 16 match against Tommy Paul in the US Open. This was one of the fastest serves in the history of the US Open and thus, the youngster has already put himself in the history books of the tournament with his antics.
Moreover, he clocked the same speed of 149 MPH twice in the same game, which makes it clear that the youngster is doing it willingly and he has made it one of his strengths.
Ben Shelton’s performance against Tommy Paul in the Round of 16 match was sensational. He won the first two sets in incredible fashion. It’s true that he lost the third round, as it seemed like Tommy was en route to a comeback but the 20-year-old made sure that it didn’t happen with his immaculate win in the fourth round again.
The American youngster has been very impressive throughout the competition so far. His first-round win over Pedro Cachin came after a sensational comeback following a first-set loss. In the second round, he defeated Dominik Thiem by a walkover and in the third round, it was Aslan Karatsev, whom he defeated pretty easily. Ben Shelton’s Quarterfinal opponent has not been announced yet.

Tennis legend Roger Federer recently signed Ben Shelton and Iga Swiatek as two of the lead ambassadors for his new shoe brand, On. Ben Shelton is hands down the face of the young American men’s tennis contingent and him being signed by the brand was reasonably enough.
Talking about the reason why these two players were chosen as ambassadors for On, Federer said, “Iga and Ben represent the next generation of world-class talent. Both players demonstrate On’s competitive spirit and embody current and future champions of the sport. We are really happy to welcome them to the On family.”
Ben Shelton has a career-high rank of World No. 35 and is currently on the rise. He is just 20 years old and has great potential. He is finally shining in the current edition of the US Open.
