“He threw me under the bus,” Boris Becker’s ex fiancé reveals shocking truth behind a blindsided breakup that came with a ‘crazy love story’ crash

Boris Becker‘s ex-fiancé Alexandra Meyer revealed in an ITV documentary that she learned about the end of her engagement with the former tennis star through the tabloid. 

In the second part of the Boris Becker: The Rise and Fall documentary, Meyer explained that she was thrown under the bus after the crash of the fairy tale love story.

Meyer and Boris Becker’s relationship was made public in the summer of 2008, when she was 28 and Boris was 40. Being the daughter of Axel Meyer-Wolden Becker’s long-serving tennis manager, she got to know Becker on his many visits to their family home.

Interestingly enough, Meyer described the beginning of the relationship as fairy tale.

In my mind, at 24 years old, this was only about ten years after my father had passed…I felt safe. And because in the back of my mind, you know, I always sort of had my father and him trusting Boris and treating Boris like family.

Alexandra Meyer said

However, things turned sour when Meyer fell ill while on a trip with Becker to see his two sons from his first wife, Barbara, in Miami. That was followed by an angry exchange via text before Becker went to the German tabloid Bild Zeitung to announce that he had been dumped by her.

[I thought] maybe this is where I'm supposed to be. Maybe you know, this is the crazy love story with all this history… the happy ending. The story was… it was like a fairytale. I knew Boris was Boris, but I had no idea what came with it. His personal life was a mess. There were divorces, there were children, there were breakups. 

Continuing further, she added

Meyer further added that she felt humiliated after he lied to the public, and she didn’t deserve to be treated that way. 

We had a trip to Miami before our breakup, in which we had spent time with his children, and I got very sick. But Boris was not happy with that, and all of a sudden, he was not taking my phonecalls and he started acting strange. 

Adding to the story, she said

Also, the documentary detailed the breakup between Barbara and Boris Becker after an affair with model Angel Ermakova.

But Boris was not happy with that, and all of a sudden, he was not taking my phonecalls and he started acting strange. I didn’t know where he was. So of course I called and of course I messaged. The message that I wrote to Boris said: “Well, if you’re not answering and you’re not communicating with me, I guess our engagement is off?... To this day, I’ve never spoken to him again. So, he threw me under the bus.

Boris Becker recently announced that he will no longer be the head coach of young talent Holger Rune. The former Novak Djokovic coach explained that he can no longer deliver what the Dane needs.

This comes after four and a half months of collaboration with the Danish star, following a streak of losses in the second half of the season. 

Becker, who was charged with tax eviction last year, was the hope of Holger Rune’s many title wins, as he had done with Novak Djokovic. But that was far from materializing, as the Dane is yet to play in a final season since June last year.
