Ranked World No. 152 at the start of the last week, Borna Coric, entered the 2022 Cincinnati Masters through protected ranking looking to get some Tour-level matches under his belt. A week later, he is now the champion of the ATP-1000 event having defeated many in-form players on his way to the title defeating the 4th seeded Stefanos Tstisipas.
Coric won the match 7-6(0), 6-2 in 1 hour and 57 minutes to defeat Stef and win his maiden Masters title and his 3rd Tour title as he now posses titles in all three ties of the Tour, ATP-250 title in Morocco, the ATP-500 title in Halle and now the Masters title in Cincinnati. Coric dropped just 1 set throughout the entire tournament, with only 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal being able to take a set of the Czech during their 2nd round clash.
